Tally Ho! Brass
Wisconsin's Premier Polka Band
We’re Tally Ho! Brass — Wisconsin’s most exciting polka band keeping the centuries-old tradition of German and Austrian brass band music alive, kicking, and sometimes a little bit funky. We perform authentic German and Austrian brass music alongside classic rock, funk, and jazz arrangements. Based in Milwaukee, we bring high-energy polka entertainment to festivals, Oktoberfests, beer gardens, and private events across Wisconsin, Illinois, and beyond.
Born from a love of both tradition and trouble-making, we’ve spent years perfecting our craft so we could do wonderfully unexpected things with it. We’ve played everywhere from local beer gardens to festival stages, always with the same mission: prove that brass band music can be sophisticated, surprising, and impossibly fun—sometimes all within the same song.
What's On Tap?
A musical journey from Bavarian beer halls to 1970s dance floors—and everywhere in between.
Authentic Blasmusik
We bring the classics that define modern Blasmusik, performed the way they are meant to be heard. From Ernst Mosch’s iconic polkas to Mnozil Brass’s technical wizardry, from Blechverrückt’s innovation to the exciting repertoires of da Blechhauf’n, Viera Blech, Egerländer die Kleinen Besetzung, Kaiser Musikanten, and Alpenblech. We’re bringing the best of Austrian and German brass tradition across the Atlantic, one blazing polka at a time.
Decades of Hits, Reimagined
The songs that defined the 60s, 70s and 80s—from The Beatles’ “Hey Jude” to Journey’s “Lights,” from Bob Marley’s “Buffalo Soldier to Weather Report’s jazz fusion masterpiece “Birdland.” We’ve taken the music that shaped us and rearranged it for the instruments we love. Linda Ronstadt’s “Blue Bayou” meets Santana’s “Oye Como Va.” The Eagles’ “Hotel California” meets Steve Miller Band’s “Swingtown.” Every song gets the respect it deserves and the brass it never knew it needed.
